NEST360 (Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies) has partnered with the World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA) to launch “Mastering the use of CPAP devices: a level 2 hospital practical guide.” WCEA is a global education organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality, accredited continuing education for healthcare professionals worldwide, with a strong focus on practical, accessible, and impactful learning.
Developed in collaboration with experienced clinicians working in partnership with NEST360, this course combines WCEA’s expertise in scalable online education with real-world clinical experience. The result is a practical, skills-focused learning program designed to bridge the gap between theory and day-to-day CPAP use in hospital settings.
NEST360 is a multidisciplinary alliance of 23 organizations (18 based in Africa) working in partnership with hospitals, governments, educational institutions, professional societies, and national NGOs to establish sustainable, high-quality, and transformative hospital care for newborns. Through this collaboration, WCEA supports NEST360’s mission by helping ensure that frontline healthcare workers have access to standardized, high-quality training wherever they are.
In recent years, hospitals across Africa have improved access to neonatal CPAP devices, driven by the increasing availability of affordable machines. However, a critical training gap remains. Many healthcare providers lack hands-on instruction and confidence in CPAP use, limiting the life-saving potential of this technology.
This self-paced online course, designed for new staff and students, provides practical guidance and applied learning to help clinicians safely and confidently operate and maintain essential newborn CPAP devices, including those used in WHO Level 2 care facilities in Africa. Delivered through WCEA’s global learning platform, the course ensures accessibility, consistency, and quality across diverse healthcare settings.
By combining NEST360’s clinical innovation with WCEA’s global education infrastructure, this initiative delivers standardized, practical training that equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to use CPAP effectively. The result is stronger clinical practice, improved neonatal outcomes, and a meaningful step forward in advancing newborn care in Africa and beyond.
