Webinar title: Breast Cancer – Part 2: Evolving Paradigms in Breast Cancer Treatment: From Evidence to Practice
Breast cancer care is changing rapidly, driven by new scientific insights, technologies, and models of care that emphasize early detection, precision treatment, and holistic support. This webinar brings together health professionals from various disciplines to explore how evolving evidence is shaping the diagnosis, treatment, and management of breast cancer in everyday practice. Through interactive presentations and case reflections, participants will examine how multidisciplinary collaboration and context-sensitive application of evidence can improve outcomes and quality of life for patients across diverse healthcare settings.


Speaker: Naomi Oyoe Ohene Oti, Nurse Specialist (ONC) / Head of Nursing, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, Ghana
Naomi Oyoe Ohene Oti is a Ghanaian Oncology Nurse Specialist and global nurse leader who is passionate about strengthening cancer care and nursing leadership across Africa. She serves as Chair of the Oncology Nursing Special Interest Group of the African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC), Faculty Chair for Oncology Nursing at the Nurses and Midwives Specialists Society of Ghana, Adjunct Faculty at the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives, and Editorial Board Member of ecancermedicalscience. Naomi is also a member of the Membership Committee of the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC). She holds a master’s degree in public health, is a postgraduate member in Oncology Nursing, and is pursuing a PhD focused on supportive care for breast cancer patients. She is the 2025 Aster Guardian Global Nursing Award winner, the most prestigious recognition in global nursing.
Objectives:
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Summarize key advances in breast cancer treatment, including systemic, surgical, and radiation innovations.
- Discuss how new research findings and global guidelines can be translated into local practice.
- Recognize the role of each health professional in delivering coordinated, evidence-based, and patient-centered breast cancer care.
- Apply principles of multidisciplinary teamwork to improve decision-making and care continuity.
