Webinar title: EBP Webinar Series – Step 1: Asking Searchable Questions in PICO(T) Format
Webinar 2 is the second in the multi-part series on evidence-based practice (EBP) in nursing and health care. This session focuses on developing well-structured clinical questions that guide the search for best evidence. Participants will learn to distinguish between background and foreground questions, explore different types of foreground questions encountered in practice, understand the components of the PICO(T) framework, and be able to convert clinical concerns into searchable PICO(T) questions.

Speaker: Mr. Stephen Adombire
Mr. Stephen Adombire holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nursing from King’s College London, UK. He is currently a PhD student in Nursing Science at the University of Toronto. Stephen has worked as a Registered Nurse within the Ghana Health Service and has held various leadership roles. Stephen’s academic and research interests include Evidence-based Practice, Quality Improvement, and Implementation Science. His PhD thesis aims to advance evidence-based nursing practice to improve healthcare outcomes. Stephen is also the Director for Evidence-Based Practice for the Ghanaian Diaspora Nursing Alliance (G-DNA).

Speaker: Dr. Diana Baptiste
A registered nurse for more than 25 years, Dr. Diana Baptiste specializes in cardiovascular care and prevention. Her sustained scholarship focuses on cardiovascular health across the care continuum for underserved populations, grounded in responding to social justice issues influencing health outcomes. She has published peer-reviewed papers in areas of cardiovascular disease, evidence-based practice (EBP), and cultural humility. She is an exemplary integrated scholar who is committed to transforming patient care as well as supporting nurses of the future. Dr. Baptiste has led continuing education programs and EBP workshops for the Ghanaian Diaspora Nursing Alliance (G-DNA), the Preventive Cardiovascular Nursing Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Speaker: Dr. Cindy Zellefrow
She is an Assistant Professor and Director of the RN to BSN Program at The Ohio State University College of Nursing and an EBP Expert Mentor at Fuld National Institute for Evidence-Based Practice. She is a certified evidence-based practice expert whose teaching is grounded in innovative, evidence-based instructional methods that she has shared with faculty and academic leaders across the world. Her areas of scholarship, Linking and Advancing Ghanaian Nurses Globally, focus on evidence-based practice, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) education with a focus on the scholarly project and conducting scoping reviews. Dr. Zellefrow is the former Director of the Academic Core at the Fuld National Institute for EBP at The Ohio State College of Nursing. In this role, she spent more than a decade on the front line of EBP evolution as she worked with academics, clinicians from across healthcare, and healthcare leadership to infuse EBP into academics and practice across the world. She is also highly engaged in Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), leading and engaging in global virtual educational collaboratives with faculty and students at the University of the West Indies (Mona, Jamaica) and the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taipei, Taiwan.

3. Understand the components of the PICO(T) framework
4. Convert a compelling clinical concern into a searchable PICO(T) question
