Webinar title: Managing Crisis: Navigating Preeclampsia and Malignant Hyperthermia
Two topics will be discussed:
1-Preeclampsia is very prevalent in the perinatal population and is a life-threatening condition. Nurses will learn how to identify and provide treatment to save lives.
2-Malignant Hyperthermia is a rare but deadly condition that is important for nurses to learn about the condition. They will learn how to screen, recognize the signs and symptoms of the condition which will aid in the rapid treatment needed to prevent death.
Speaker: Myoshi Lee, MSA -HCM, RNC -OB, C-EFM
Myoshi has been a perinatal nurse and unit-based educator for 24 years in one of the most diverse communities in the Central Valley of California. Her focus is to increase awareness of maternal and fetal care concepts among new and experienced nurses. Recognizing that perinatal patients show up in every unit of the hospital, not just labor and delivery, she has developed a cross-unit training boot camp to address the perinatal needs unique to the logistics of her facility. Building relationships with the Emergency, ICU and Med-Surg-Tele departments allows her to prepare various types of nurses to recognize the subtle differences of perinatal patients. As a certified instructor of AWHONN fetal monitoring, Perinatal Safety, and High Reliability Team Dynamics. She can ignite an advocating attitude among those she teaches. Past academics include a BS in Business and nursing and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration. Myoshi is an active member of the Association of California Nursing Leaders (ACNL) and is the current AWHONN California State Central Valley Coordinator.
