Designed to engage the neurosurgical community, patients, caregivers, policymakers, media, industry partners, and anyone impacted by neurosurgery, and celebrate the expertise, innovation, and impact of the specialty.

Speaker: Mr Mark Kusah Nyanzu

Mr Mark Kusah Nyanzu is a Neurosurgeon with professional experience in the United Kingdom and China. He has contributed to clinical research, conference presentations, and academic publications focused on neurosurgical disorders and treatment approaches.
Dr Nyanzu has been affiliated with institutions including St George’s University Hospital and Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, Walton centre, Hull Royal Infirmary, where he worked within neurosurgery departments. His published academic work includes co-authoring the review article “Spasticity: A general outlook of pathogenesis and current management” in the International Journal of Science and Research Archive in 2024. The paper examined the causes, mechanisms, and treatment strategies for spasticity in neurological disorders.
In 2025, he co-authored a neurosurgical case report titled “Subarachnoid hemorrhage after STA-MCA bypass for the treatment of an M2 dissecting aneurysm”, published in the same journal. The report discussed complications and surgical management relating to cerebral aneurysm bypass procedures.
Dr Nyanzu has also participated in international neurosurgical conferences. At the 2022 European Association of Neurosurgical Societies Congress 2022, he presented research on the management of spinal multiple myeloma.
He studied at Wenzhou medical university,China for his MBBS and neurosurgery training between 2007 and 2020.He holds a PhD in traumatic brain injury.
