Palliative and End of Life Care in Gynecologic Malignancies

Hosted & Sponsored by:

Webinar title: Palliative and End of Life Care in Gynecologic Malignancies
In this presentation, I will share my research journey, beginning with my work in cervical cancer and its progression toward a broader focus on palliative and end-of-life care in breast and gynecological cancers. I will explore the central question: Why focus on women, and why specifically on breast and gynecologic cancers? I will also highlight the importance of end-of-life decision-making, with a particular emphasis on the financial burdens women face during this period. Additionally, I will explain why and how the use of qualitative narrative review methodology fits this study best and discuss the shift in focus to Black women and those living in rural areas of the United States.

Speaker: Mr Evans Osei
I am a final-year PhD candidate in Nursing and Gerontology at Purdue University, originally from Ghana. I am a registered nurse in both Ghana and Indiana, USA, with over eight years of clinical experience, six in Ghana and two in the U.S., primarily in nursing homes and palliative care centers. I have 11 years of teaching experience, including nine years in Ghana and three as a teaching assistant in the U.S. I have co-authored over 40 articles, peer-reviewed about 20 papers, and secured three research grants. My goal is to become a tenure-track professor and a palliative/geriatric care provider.

Objectives:
