Webinar Title: Prepacking and Labelling of Medicines
This CPD session aims to strengthen the knowledge and competencies of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of hypertension—a leading contributor to morbidity and mortality in Malawi and globally.
Objectives:
- Define hypertension and outline its classification.
- Discuss risk factors and pathophysiology of hypertension.
- Review evidence-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological management strategies.
- Highlight common complications such as stroke, renal impairment, and cardiovascular disease.
- Emphasize inter-professional collaboration in the prevention and management of hypertension
Speaker: Dr Hanafih Umali Nkhata, Senior Medical Officer
Dr Hanafih Umali Nkhata is a dedicated and compassionate medical doctor who holds Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB; BS) degree from the University of Malawi, College of Medicine. He has extensive knowledge in infectious diseases through hands on experience in diagnosing, management and preventive services provided to individuals and the community at large. He is currently working at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe, Malawi.
