Hosted & Sponsored by:

Webinar title: Sterile Water Injections for Back Pain in Labour: Innovative Option in Low-Resource Settings
This webinar presents the use of Sterile Water Injections (SWI) as a simple, cost-effective, and evidence-based method for managing low back pain among women in labour. In many LMIC settings where resources for pain management are limited, SWI offers a safe, empowering alternative for both midwives and birthing women. The session will provide insights into clinical application, effectiveness, and integration into routine maternity care.

Speaker: Ms Awube Menlah
Ms. Awube Menlah is a seasoned nurse anaesthetist and educator with over 22 years of clinical experience across Ghana. A registered nurse and certified nurse anaesthetist (CNA), she holds a BSc and completed graduate studies at the University of Cape Coast. Currently a PhD candidate at Charles Darwin University, her research focuses on helping women manage low back pain during labour. As a lecturer of VVU and a fellow of the Ghana College of Nursing and Midwifery, Awube is committed to advancing nursing and midwifery health and clinical education through teaching, research, and collaborative studies that bring diverse perspectives to healthcare challenges.
