Webinar title: The Multidisciplinary Approach to Diabetes Management: Building Effective Team-Based Care
This webinar explores the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing diabetes. It highlights how collaborative care involving the patient, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dietitians, psychologists and other health professionals can improve patient outcomes, adherence, and quality of life. Practical strategies for implementing team-based diabetes care in resource-limited settings will be discussed.


Speaker: Ms Venus Mushininga, BPharm, MBA, MPH
Venus Mushininga is a Public Health Consultant and Pharmacist with extensive expertise in non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including diabetes. She has contributed to Zimbabwe’s WHO PEN implementation for NCD prevention and management. She is an advocate for holistic, patient-centered services, a researcher, and a part-time Lecturer at the Women’s University in Africa, contributing to curriculum development. Venus’s interests include NCD policy, integrated service delivery models, and building resilient health systems to ensure continuity of essential NCD services during pandemics, as well as strengthening health system preparedness, response, and recovery.
