Speaker: Dr. Kristi Kliebert, MPT, DPT
Dr. Kristi Kliebert, MPT, DPT, is a physical therapist specializing in obstetric and pelvic health for Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL. She earned a Certificate in Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy from the Academy of Pelvic Health, is a certified yoga and prenatal yoga teacher, and completed a birth doula training. She has held several volunteer positions in the Academy of Pelvic Health, currently serving as Director-at-Large on the Board of Directors and Lead CAPP-OB Reviewer for the CAPP-OB Case Reflection Review committee.
Objectives:
- Define and understand general concepts of pelvic health
- Review pelvic anatomy
- Understand proper pelvic floor function and identify causes and symptoms of dysfunction
- Discuss common pelvic floor conditions in adolescence, childbearing age, peri- menopause/menopause and beyond
- Understand pelvic health physical therapy interventions to address pelvic floor dysfunction
- Discuss myths about pelvic health in Ghanaian culture
- Provide strategies to open lines of communication between providers and patients
