Webinar Title: The Role of Pharmacists in Toxicology and Hospital Practice
This webinar aims at strengthening pharmacists’ competencies in clinical, hospital and public health settings. The session will focus on the expanding role of pharmacists in the prevention, identification, and management of poisoning cases, as well as their contribution to patient safety and multidisciplinary hospital care.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the role of pharmacists in toxicology within hospital and clinical settings.
  2. Discuss common poisoning cases and toxicological challenges encountered in
    practice.
  3. Highlight the pharmacist’s role in prevention, diagnosis support, treatment and monitoring of toxic exposures.
  4. Explore collaboration between pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in managing toxicology cases.
  5. Share best practices and relevant local or international experiences in hospital toxicology services.

Speaker: Dr Eric Hammond

Eric Hammond is a registered Pharmacist and certified specialist in poison information. He holds Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University. Eric is currently working at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital at the Drug and Poison Information Center.
