The lecture will focus on understanding the biopsychosocial model of the onset of depression and treatment modalities that can be provided by non-specialist clinicians in a primary health care setting.

Speaker: Dr. Theddeus Iheanacho, Director of Yale Global Mental Health Program
Dr. Iheanacho is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Yale Global Mental Health Programs and Chairman of Psychiatry at Trinity Health of New England/Saint Francis Hospital, United States. He leads the HAPPINESS Project collaboration between Yale University and local agencies to build capacity for mental health care in Nigeria. Dr. Iheanacho completed medical school at Abia State University and post-graduate training in psychiatry in Ireland and the United States. He is passionate about making mental health care accessible to all.
He is currently the Secretary General of the Cameroon NCD Alliance and Chair of the Africa NCDs Network Secretariat. Ferdinant is a US Department of State, Community Solutions Fellow, Multi Union for International Cancer Control Fellow to Jordan and Ghana, and One Young World Ambassador. He has been focused on building Coalitions for NCD prevention and Control in Africa for the past eight years.
