Webinar Title: Vaccine Scheduling for Under Five Children
This CPD session seeks to equip pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, immunization logisticians, nurses, and other public health professionals with updated and practical knowledge on the principles, timing, sequence, and rationale of childhood immunization schedules. The emphasis will be on the under-five population.
Objectives:
By the end of this webinar, participants must be able to:

Explain the standard immunization schedule for children under five as guided by the WHO/EPI frameworks.

Discuss the rationale behind timing, dose spacing, and age-specific requirements.

Address special cases- missed doses, catch-up schedules, contraindications and deferrals.

Review safety monitoring, cold chain requirements, and record-keeping compliance.

Highlight current challenges and opportunities to strengthen immunization practice in Malawi and similar settings.
Speaker: Mr. Willie Chiumbuzo
Mr. Willie Chiumbuzo is a pharmacist with over 16 years of working experience. He holds Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honors) degree from University of Malawi. Currently, Willie is working for Ministry of Health, Malawi. He is an Immunization Supply Chain and Logistics Officer under Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).
