Webinar title: Communication for Improved Outcomes
Effective communication between both the providers of care and the patient assists in both nurse satisfaction and patient outcomes.
Speaker: Dr Elizabeth Alvarez, DNP, RN
Elizabeth Alvarez currently serves as the RN Program Coordinator at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, IL. She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing from St. Louis University and her Master of Science in Nursing Education from McKendree University and finally, her Doctor of Nursing Practice & Ethical Leadership from McKendree University in 2019.
Her doctoral study focused on bedside rounding and patient outcomes’ participate in several CEUs with a focus on both student and patient outcomes. She was awarded the Faculty Member of the Year Award in 2022 and enjoyed working with the students as a co-lead of the Student Nurse Association.
Elizabeth volunteered at many local organizations and last year served on a medical mission in Frankadua, Ghana. It was her first international volunteer activity, and she enjoyed it immensely. She is attending a mission this December in Costa Rica but hopes to return to Ghana again in the future.
