Webinar title: Frailty in Primary Health Care: a Call to Action for General Practitioners
As life-expectancy increases in all countries, older age brings along increasing health challenges. Frailty is a state of increased vulnerability to internal stressors. However, older adults are rarely diagnosed nor managed for frailty in LMICs. The lecture will offer an introduction to the subject of frailty, describe its pathophysiology and risk factors, highlight available screening tools for clinicians in resource-limited settings, and discuss evidence-based interventions to treat and prevent frailty.
