Speaker: Jill Illife
ill Iliffe is Executive Director of the Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation (CNMF). The CNMF is a federation of national nursing and midwifery organisations in Commonwealth countries. In this role Jill is involved in international health policy development; providing technical advice on legislation, regulation and standards relevant to nursing and midwifery; providing education and training; and managing specific projects to improve nursing, midwifery and health care. Jill is a registered nurse and midwife, with qualifications in family planning and women’s health. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Distinction) from Sydney University; a Master of International Studies also from Sydney University; and has recently completed an International Diploma in Mental Health, Human Rights and Law from the Indian Law Society.
Objectives
- To provide information to nursing and midwifery educators about current global initiatives on oral health.
- To update nursing and midwifery educators about current oral health practice and the link between oral health and general health.
- To explore, with nursing and midwifery educators, strategies to improve oral health education for nurses and midwives both in initial and post graduate education.
- To emphasize with important role of nurses and midwives in providing oral health education, oral health assessment, and preventing oral health diseases.
