Prescribing Exercise or Physical Activity in Primary Care

Hosted & Sponsored by:

Regular physical activity which includes exercise has been proven beyond doubt to have both physical and psychological benefits. Including treating and preventing chronic disease, lowering mortality rates, improving mental health and cognitive function.

For these reasons and the fact that primary care is the first, and sometimes the only, point of contact for health care; primary caregivers have a responsibility to assess physical activity habits in their patients, inform them of the risk of being inactive, and provide a proper exercise prescription
